Ataru was involved in the financial business licensing process from the start-up of the Singapore subsidiary ACA Investments Pte Ltd, which was licensed in January 2008. Ataru is in charge of investments to focus on healthcare and impact investments. He has been involved in expanding middle-office functions such as compliance work and dealing with regulatory authorities.

Before ACA, Ataru was engaged as a trader in the Asset-Backed Fixed Income Department at Goldman Sachs Tokyo Branch and at the New York Head Office, engaged as a managing partner and managing overseas investments at Ant Capital Partners Ltd. (f.k.a. Nikko Antfactory Ltd.)

Ataru graduated from Lewis & Clark College (B.S. in Business Administrative Studies and minor in Computer Science)
